Promise Healthcare Earns National Quality Leader Recognition for Diabetes and Behavioral Healthcare
Promise Healthcare has received multiple 2026 Community Health Quality Recognition (CHQR) awards from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), including being named a National Quality Leader in both Diabetes Health and Behavioral Health.
The annual Community Health Quality Recognition awards recognize federally qualified health centers across the country for achievements in areas including clinical quality, access to care, health information technology and delivering high-value healthcare.
Promise Healthcare received the following 2026 recognitions:
- National Quality Leader – Diabetes Health
- National Quality Leader – Behavioral Health
- Improving Health Care Access
- Advancing Health Information Technology for Quality
- High-Value Care
The recognition reflects Promise Healthcare's continued focus on providing comprehensive, coordinated and accessible healthcare to residents throughout Champaign County and surrounding communities.
“This recognition is a tremendous accomplishment for our entire Promise Healthcare team,” said Melonie Richardson, MSN, APRN-FPA, FNP-BC, Chief Medical Officer. “These awards reflect the dedication of our providers and staff to delivering excellent care while continuing to remove barriers that can prevent people from receiving the healthcare they need. We are especially proud that our work in both diabetes and behavioral health has been recognized at the national level.”
Promise Healthcare provides medical, dental, behavioral health and psychiatric services, along with pharmacy and other support services designed to address the healthcare needs of the whole patient. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, Promise Healthcare serves patients regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay.
In 2025, Promise Healthcare served 14,467 patients through its locations and programs in Champaign County and the surrounding areas.
“These awards are important because they represent more than recognition,” Jennifer Henry, Chief Medical Officer added. “They demonstrate that high-quality healthcare is being delivered right here in our community, including to individuals and families who have historically faced barriers to accessing care.”
