Urbana School Health Center

The Urbana School Health Center is a partnership between Promise Healthcare and the Urbana School District 116. The USHC is open to everyone, even those outside the school district.  Hours are 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Services Provided

Medical Services: The Urbana School Health Center provides primary care as well as annual physical exams (school and sports physicals), immunizations, treatment for acute and chronic medical conditions (asthma, diabetes, ADHD, etc.), birth control and pregnancy testing, sexually transmitted infections (STI) testing, treatment for sport-related injuries and sub-specialty referrals, and individual and family dietary management.

Dental Services:  The Urbana School Health Center provides school dental exams, cleanings, treatment for cavities, extractions, fillings and emergency dental services.

Counseling: The Urbana School Health Center also offers individual and family counseling, school-based counseling, case management, therapy, help for anxiety and depression, and resources and referrals.

How to access the Health Center

Same-day appointments are available for medical and some counseling.
Same-day appointments are also available for school/sport physicals.

Parental consent is required (except for Adolescent Confidential Health Services as per State of Illinois statutes). There are exceptions for Adolescent Confidential Health Services as per State of Illinois statutes.

Method of Payment

The USHC accepts Medicaid and most insurance plans and has an income-based sliding fee scale available for those who are uninsured.

The USHC does not turn anyone away based on their ability to pay.
